How It All Happened

Chapter 2: Serfina’s Lost Family

  Serafina ran away from the village before anyone could see her, she ran into the forest at the other half of Planet F. But, she didn’t notice a shadow following her from behind.

  By the time Serafina got to the forest, she was breathing heavily and her whole body was trembling. But her body was not trembling from fear, her body was trembling from Serafina’s transformation. Serafina’s skin occasionally turned yellow, even though it will change back after a few minutes, but it still scared Serafina.

  “I should have known this will happen.” a voice said behind her. Serafina jumped back as a hooded figure stepped out of the shadows. “Back off! For I am Serafina, the strongest girl of this planet!” Serafina said even though she didn’t really sound very confident. “Don’t worry! I know all about your little secret!” the hooded figure said as she took off her food (the figure’s voice sounded like a girl) “Mother!” Serafina gasped as she saw her mother’s face from under the black hood from her traveling cloak. “ You knew all this time didn’t you? And you NEVER explained to me? I want to know! Stop treating me like a little child, I’m already the leader of all the girls, nymphs and other females on this planet! Tell me NOW!” Serafina demanded. “Serafina I am really sorry that I didn’t tell you sooner, I just afraid that other people will find out about the secret I have kept for decades.” Serafina’s mother replied.

  “But aren’t we children born magically, like without any male to help us so we won’t have any male genetics?” Serafina asked. “Well about that… I kind of married long ago, but it’s not with one of those barbaric male humans, don’t get me wrong. I was a beautiful female named Helen, a famous scientist, one day I discovered a mysterious planet. I called it “Bom Bom Planet”, I wanted to know more so I built a spaceship and used the spaceship to fly to that planet. In that planet, there is oxygen, and some living organisms that called themselves “Pixies”, I married a Pixie named Clark that was very charming and also a great scientist. We gave birth to two children, one that was born like a Pixie named Conner, and you, you were so me how human. But I guess Pixie DNA is just stronger than mine.” Helen shrugged. “But Artemis is a maiden goddess, she won’t take girls who have already married to another planet and make them immortal!” Serafina cried. “Well, a few seconds after your brother was born, there was a big earthquake, your father and I put Conner in the spaceship and sent him to Planet E13. Your father was about to send you to planet E13 too, but he didn’t notice he stepped on a loose floor tile, the floor crumbled beneath him and he…” Helen’s voice broke. “Oh mother, I’m so sorry, I’m so very sorry that I let you lose father, please forgive me!” Serafina said  “It’s ok. But the moon goddess didn’t know my past, she just saw me with a female child that looks like a human, weeping in the middle of the earthquake, she must have thought I was protecting the baby and weeping from fear. She brought me to Planet F, gave me new godly powers and made me immortal, I don’t want to disappoint her that I married. But Serafina listen carefully: You are already starting to transform, when you fully transform, they will know, Artemis will know, go to planet E13 you will be safe there. I also sense that your brother will be there.” Helen said. “But Artemis is the goddess of the moon on Planet E13, she can see everything including me!” Serafina said. “Ah, but by that time you will keep your power and immortality, but Artemis will not recognize you because you already fully transformed by that time!” Helen said. “Now, I must go…” Serafina said, still shocked by what her mother told her. “Wait! Don’t go back to the village, if you are glowing constantly, the girls will think something is wrong!” Helen said. “But what about Selena, shouldn’t she be in danger too?” Serafina asked worriedly. “Yeah, about that Selina is the child Artemis helped me give birth to, like without any male give birth to so she doesn't have any Pixie DNA. So she is actually your half-sister.” Helen said embarassed.

  “As usual, my sister is the lucky one.” Serafina muttered to herself. “Here, I help you pack your stuff.” Helen said as she handed Serafina a luggage. “Wait if Artemis took me directly from this Bom Bom Planet, how come I don't remember anything about it and have memories of Planet E13 even if I haven't been there?" Serafina asked. " That is because to make sure you and Artemis won't suspect anything, or let you get small pieces of your former memories, I replaced those real memories with fake, more normal memories that I created thanks to some magic I learned." Helen explained " Why do the interesting and dangerous stuff always happen to me?" Serafina groaned. " Creatures with the Pixie DNA are usually NEVER safe." Helen sighed.
